Outside - Standard Models ch. 8
It was a blur to Hyun-ki how she got back home. It was around noon on Sunday when she woke up staring at the ceiling wondering if everything with the boy and STModL was a dream. She reached over for her phone. It was not there. Moving her stiff achy head and body, she spotted her tote on the ground. Looking inside she saw the Hadron, a purple pouch of photo cards, and a brick. Pulling the heavy thing out she saw it was Baryon, their latest album. It was covered with their autographs. No wonder my body is so sore. This thing is heavier than my textbooks. She turned on her phone and looked through social media. There were dozens of notes and messages to check. They were posts and reposts with pictures of her and her friends posing with STModL members along with Tachyon holding the red t-rex she won for him marked with #Tachyon, #scarynoonas along with #STModL under the photos they took backstage at the soccer arena. She kept scrolling and saw airport photos of STModL saying they were

Grabbing their stuff, the six of them joined the great salmon migration up the stairs towards the double door exits behind them. The sky was dark so they did not stop until they were in a more open space under a lamppost. Everyone took turns waiting in line to use the restrooms one last time before making the long journey home. "You need to leave now, right?" Hyun-ki asked as she waited around with Tachyon. “Yes.” "Where is your manager?" Tachyon checked his phone, "He tells me to go to the loading docks. It's on the other side. Can you come with me?" "Of course!" said Hyun-ki As soon as the other girls finished, they herded around Tachyon and walked him all the way around the arena perimeter to the sparser, quieter, and darker loading dock gates. There was a security check point at the entrance where fans have been gathering outside waiting to see their favorite artists leave the arena. Tachyon walked up to the security guard and told him his name. The guards checked their

Hyun-ki put a hand on Tachyon's back to not lose him to the moving mass of people coming and going in all directions inside the arena lobby. People were leaving their seats in between the sets of multiple Kpop acts so there were lines everywhere for the concession(food) stands, and the restrooms. The six of them went through open double doors and saw steps leading down with rows of seats on the left and right. In front of them was a covered up soccer field. There were no chairs on the floor but it was packed with young people. Going down the steps they looked for seats not too far from the stage. Hyun-Ki spotted three empty seats next to the aisle and sat down at the far end and invited Tachyon to sit with her. Kwan sandwiched him on the other side while Min, Chul and Sun-Hi sat in the open seats behind them. A girl group of five were already on stage getting ready to perform. The audience cheered and waved their differently shaped light-sticks for them. She could hear fan chants

Observing which games to play, the five of them wandered around. They saw girls, boys, a man and woman sitting on stools along a counter. Each seat had its own alley. When a bell rang, each player rolled a little white ball into a set of holes in a chevron formation at the far end of each alley. Along the back wall above them was a sloped tracking board with fourteen three-dimensional horse and rider figurines wiggling as they traveled from left to right towards a finish line. How much they moved depended on which hole each player rolled their balls into. Yellow moved their horse one space, blue moved two spaces, and red moved three spaces. Some of the horses did not move at all because three of the seats were empty. After a round there was a loud ringing, there was a loud cheer from a handful of the players. The game operator handed a cute little white plush bunny to a little girl. The girl smiled and laughed as the man, woman, and a boy got up and left together as a
