My Classroom Design by Diana-Huang My Classroom Design by Diana-Huang
This is for a class assignment. We are to draw out what we think would be the most ideal classroom learning environment we would like to have.

Do I decide my ideal fantasy elementary level(I haven't decided what grade to focus on) classroom of the far future or the near future with realistic limitations in mind?   This is the second sketch. The first one had smaller floor space because I had only four clusters of four desks(Which isn't realistic depending on all kinds of factors).  How many students are in your classrooms?  I decided to keep it simple... the art corner would be much bigger, it would include more easels,  pottery wheels and a small kiln... "is this an art class?" All of it... :XD:  Each student's desk top would be a computer screen... but it would make the computer corner redundant?

if I really wanted to I could have 3D modeled it in Maya program but I think it would be overkill and I need to spend time on my other assignments...  :XD:

Beautiful! The angles are also well done! I think it would be a great classroom design, but then, why is the teacher's desk at the back? Anyway, I think you'd make a rather good interior designer seeing this. Nicely done!

Thanks. Having the teacher's desk in the front would obstruct the view and easy access to the front of the room for the students when interactive lessons are being done as a class as well as when students are watching videos, the teacher can work quietly or observe the students while in the back. A school teacher usually prepares for the day in the mornings and afternoons before and after class.  I learned that if a teacher really knows her material, she doesn't need to rely heavily on a podium or desk. The desk creates a physical as well as a psychological barrier between student and teacher.

Hmm... You are right. Schools over here normally have their desks in front being the demonstrating desk and all. In my current school, they usually explain things through powerpoint slides. Except for Maths, Chinese, Art, Music and PE.

After all of the work I've seen in your gallery, I really think you should be a video game designer. I can tell you have what it takes for concept art and arrangement. :)

(Let's hope by some twist of fate we end up working with each other since I'm not to fond of competing against people like you who have helped me.)

Hey thanks! That's a pretty hefty compliment! Its nice to know you think about my work like that. I have thought about video game design, I took one class on it, I barely play video games anymore. I love game but I don't have as strong a gaming background as others and that is what gaming companies are looking for 2-3 year experience on published titles.  I could work on it but my area of initial focus and passion has been on 3D, VFX for tv & film.  It is something I would be willing to consider if the door would open up for me to do it. As for now my attention has been split in many directions... teaching, working on getting my masters degree, promoting my own creations... advocating for things I think are important... bleh...

I'm sorry to hear that, it is a shame not everyone has access to the same educational opportunities that I have had. There needs to be a way to make up for that some how...

I don't think they consult with the teachers when they figure out how many square feet each room with have :(
