edit: Never got around to putting up the final version until now. I was looking for something else when I stumbled upon this old thing. I created a large poster of this and framed it for display during the senior show. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- This is the imagery that I'm settling for.... Gone With the Wind's Tara and the line: "I'll never go hungry again!" with a sci-fi fantasy twist.
I'll be working on text pretty soon. It is really hard to decide on fonts... I'm not graphic design so I am not the best font person. Help!. If i use it as a give away to the senior show.... I can just put my name and contact... if its for mailing out.... or poster... blah! What's a good font???
Thanks! Someday... someday... I need to build up a big enough following...so I can throw my weight around when that time comes... I don't have the leverage to control content and negotiate something really fair for myself... yet.
I advise strongly against Black Chancery, sorry I just see it everywhere, I am 100% against it! I feel this poster calls for a thick but script-like font, something with strength and also beauty. Maybe even a "Declaration of Independence" style font! Something with a little flourish (but not plain like Chancery).
The star flares at the top I think could use some touch-ups. In the space between the stars there seem to be pixelation and jpeg compression artifacts which I would say blur or smudge out with Photoshop. I also feel the sky is a bit too colorful for the rest of the poster esp. with its greens and blues, if you desaturated those specific areas or maybe even changed the hue to some kind of red or brown to match up with the rest of the work.
I LOVE the silhouettes at the bottom. I am a huge fan of silhouettes and their outlines are crisp and clean. The tree is great too, with its own highlights up by the sky. I really like the poses. The nebula in the background is like a surreal mountain.
I think this will make a beautiful poster. I can imagine the title and its sub-heading in the middle, on the branches, and all the credits in the darkness below the characters.
