I like both...  monochrome (one color range) pallettes automatically makes things look like they are from long ago. 
Colorful drawings look like they belong in the present.

This is the carousel that will house the new set of horses to be featured in the 4th Elemental Horses book. I still need to figure out what the 12th of the new set of horses is to be. I have rough ideas of the 12th horse.
